The winner of betapitch | Copenhagen is here!

It was a nice day in Copenhagen. Most of the jury flew in earlier and was hanging out at republikken café – a cozy semi-work space, discussing the local startup ecosystem with Nick.

Jury composed of an angel investor Thomas Madsen Mygdal, local startup star Lars from StartupBootcamp, founder of AS PnP accelerator Luis, Viennese coworking expert Yves and the UK crowd investing expert Peter Thomson from Seedrs. They were all managed by our cool master of ceremony Mads Ehrhardt who took care of having jury and finalists in place and on time.

Finalists were truly various. From new social platform where you’re supposed to get objective praice through a hardware capable of storing energy to a solar panel add-on for parasols which can charge your phone. Guys forgot to bring the prototype on the stage, which is a big mistake when you have in the jury Mygdal.

And the winner is…

Maria showed a sleek presentation of Gingr which is an uniting service for e-shops where they can easily handle payments and expenses in one nice tool. Maria won the video provided by Explainer Rocket.

The Microsoft Biz Park Plus goes to Veloyo, team from Hamburg who’s building a platform for efficient and fast on-location bike repairs.

Timebird performed a nice pitch supported by neatly designed presentation on their scheduling service which saves time making an appointment and searching for a free spot in various calendars. Their pitch earned them the tickets to the Pirate Summit and pitch on Walk the Plank.

$1000 to be spent on Elance went to Copy Me That, the engine which can copy recipes from any website and turn them into well organized collection. Each of the finalists is getting $250 to spend on Elance as well.

And the great winner became EasySize, service for defining clothes’ sizes and decreasing returns in online shops. Well performed pitch and the audience loved it. EasySize wins 6 months of workspace at republikken and pitch at betapitch | global!

This is a community event and it won’t be possible without the help of our friends: Elance-oDesk, Seedrs, Axel Springer PnP accelerator, Explainer Rocket, Pirate Summit, Microsoft Ventures and especially republikken who hosted betapitch and threw a great party afterwards.

Friends, partners, awesome jury, kudos for making it happen!

Now stay tuned for the next two betapitch events – on the 14th of August we’ll have betapitch | Hamburg and betapitch | Vienna.

See you all in Berlin on the 30th of August for betapitch | global!

Pictures from the event are in our album!
